When it comes to writing great content, there is no question that Google likes Latent Semantic content.
What the heck is latent semantic content?
It is content that incorporates common denominators through the use of keyword phrases that the top sites are using.
So how does this apply to SEO?
Well, you should know that each page of your site should be focused on 1 Keyword per page. There are some standard things you should do as well.
- Use your keyword in the title
- Use Your Keyword in an H1 tag
- Use your Keyword in an H2 Tag
- Use your keyword with a density between 1 and 2%
- Use your Keyword inside Your Alt Tag on your image
- And there are a few other things as well….
But beyond the basis, how you can you create content that will get you to the 1st page of Google?
What do they want?
They want great content that incorporates other related phrases that matter most to the market
So How do you find them?
Well on way, although very time consuming is to use the ~ (tilde) key infront of your keyword when you search in Google. This will give you within the results some phrases that are considered related and important. But GOSH that is soooooo slowwwww
Then, A couple of years ago there came out a tool called KRA PRO. This is an awesome tool that does all sorts of amazing things, but one of the coolest functions is it would go and look at the top 1o websites and pulls out all the important keywords and organized them by 1 word, 2 word, 3 word and 4 word phrases and give you the count of the number of times they are used on the top 10 sites. Pretty amazing stuff and as an SEO Expert and Market research FREAK I purchased it and love it.
However, for your average webmaster, the useage of this tool may not really be worth the $187.00 it cost.
Then, today, I was working with one of members of Awakened LLC, A canadian company that has hired me to do training for them. I was discussing the importance of site structure and we were talking about LSI and I was showing her some ways to find related keywords through Google's wonder wheel and also the searches related aspect that shows at the bottom of google results.
